This extensive collection of early and unusual greeting cards was originally donated to librarian Janet Reed. The collection included 1 letter, 10 misc. cards and 20 valentines. The collection was a gift from Mrs. Jessie Hodge. Other acquisitions have increased the collection, including a donation of cards by Beebe Brewster. Caroline Baldwin Babcock (1841-1921) was a civic and social leader in Hudson, Ohio, and founder of the Hudson Library & Historical Society. She was the daughter of early Hudson pioneers Frederick (1794-1880) and Salome Bronson Baldwin (1804-1881). After being raised in Hudson she married Perry H.
